Festival of Yesteryear

The Festival of Yesteryear is a celebration of way things were done, with the things that we had back then.

Held on the long weekend in October (2nd -3th October), in beautiful and central Mudgee NSW. The location is the exhibition area at the Australian Rural Education Centre (AREC), the home of the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days. Thsi well appointed site has a fantastic circular road system, dedicated tractor pull area, permanent exhibition buildings, the  largest being 74 x 48 m.

As this will be the first run for the event, we are looking to have an intimate and fun event that will draw people from throughout the Central West to visit the public days.

The festival is not just a machinery rally although there will be plenty of machinery; our aim is for exhibitors to create a snapshot of all the aspects of their area of interest in their display. This can extend to dressing in clothes appropriate to the time, having the machinery doing the job it was intended to do, and surrounding the exhibit with complimentary items.

Who should exhibit.

We are inviting anyone who can put together a display that has anything to do with the way people lived and their lifestyles, this may include but is not limited to:

- machinery, tractors, implements from the farming and rural environments.

- displays of consumables items, produce and stock

- equine interest, such as farriers, blacksmiths, and leather crafts

The result being an exhibit that is a more complete snapshot and visual interpretation of the item, how it worked, who used it and in what environment.

There is a competitive incentive of exhibitors with prizes for the best exhibits.

The Festival will be held in Mudgee NSW, at the Australian Rural Education Centre, the home of the Mudgee Small Farm Field Days. The site is secure, has great facilities including indoor exhibition space, and camping facilities.
